From May 21–23, Berlin became the beating heart of global innovation as it hosted the first-ever GITEX Europe, a landmark event that brought together over 2,500 exhibitors, 1,500+ startups, and thought leaders from 130+ countries. As Europe’s flagship tech and startup gathering, it was more than a showcase, it was a catalyst for collaboration, connection, and momentum.
Empowering emerging markets through Global visibility
As part of its mission to elevate high-impact ventures from emerging markets, ALBAN Global actively engaged in investor meetings, ecosystem roundtables, and startup showcases. The organization brought visibility to innovation coming from the Western Balkans, Ukraine, and wider EMEA region, often underrepresented but rich in talent and opportunity.
Throughout the event, ALBAN Global emphasized the importance of connecting under-tapped ecosystems with global networks and capital. Its participation was anchored by a core belief:
“Innovation thrives when people and ecosystems unite.”
By championing ventures in climate tech, advanced materials, and biotech, ALBAN Global contributed to shaping a broader, more inclusive vision for Europe’s digital and economic future.
The organization also collaborated with ecosystem partners such as enpact to promote regional growth and resilience. As GITEX Europe concluded, ALBAN Global reaffirmed its commitment to scaling innovation across borders and continuing to serve as a connector between emerging regions and global opportunities.
Side event highlight: ALBAN Global Investor Talk in Berlin
Apart from its participation in the GITEX Europe event, ALBAN Global organised an investor talk event in Berlin on May 22nd, gathering over 100 participants including investors, startups, and ecosystems. Designed as a casual yet purposeful evening, the event provided a platform for exchanging insights, experiences, and valuable documentation. Held in collaboration with enpact and its builder-oriented program, the gathering featured 16 startups from Albania, Ukraine, and Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrating the breadth of entrepreneurial activity emerging from these regions.
The event was seamlessly integrated into the broader Venture Café Thursday Gathering, a signature weekly event that brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors to foster collaboration and drive innovation in Berlin. This collaboration created a unique environment for authentic conversations, meaningful networking, and cross-border knowledge exchange, reinforcing Berlin’s role as a hub for international startup activity and investment.
